Exploring the Debate: Should Elementary School Kids Learn About Drag Queens?

The other day on our Instagram page, we shared a video of a teacher reading a book about a drag queen dancing ("shimmying"). 

A sparked a good conversation from both sides & got me thinking about this topic. 

So wanted to write about it & look at the pros and cons. Also want to see for what age this should be discussed. 

In no way am I trying to invalidate the feelings, existence, identify of drag queens or transgender people. Just want to carefully explore. 

The topic of introducing drag queens and their culture to elementary school children has generated significant debate among parents, educators, and society at large.
